The Science of Learning was born out of more than two decades of experience supporting students with unique learning profiles through Twice Exceptional Speech, Language, and Educational Therapy.

At Twice Exceptional, our expert Speech-Language Pathologists provide individualized and small-group therapy sessions focused on treating language-based learning disorders. What distinguishes us from other providers—such as neuropsychologists, special educators, academic language therapists, and tutors—is our comprehensive evaluation process and research-based, personalized interventions. We begin by identifying each learner’s strengths and challenges with the highest degree of diagnostic precision, then design a plan that matches how their brain learns best.

In the fall of 2025, we expanded our mission with the opening of the Science of Learning Preschool and the Science of Learning Academy, serving learners ages 3–15. These programs blend academic instruction with speech and language therapy, real-time social communication practice, and scaffolded executive functioning support. With flexible scheduling, students can attend their neighborhood schools while accessing the additional, targeted support they need to thrive.

Recognizing that learning and growth continue throughout life, we also launched the Science of Lifelong Learning—a groundbreaking initiative for adults seeking to strengthen communication, cognition, and confidence at any age. Using evidence-based strategies that leverage the brain’s natural ability to rewire itself, we help individuals recover from injury, adapt to cognitive changes, or rebuild focus and clarity following major life transitions such as pregnancy or chemotherapy.
